KUWAIT, September 07 (KUNA) -- The GCC 30th Summit is an added value towards completion of joint Gulf action, Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer said on Tuesday.

In a statement to KUNA, Al-Sayer expressed content over support shown by GCC leaders at the conclusion of the 30th summit earlier today, regarding the draft project of establishing a GCC regional center for disease control, similar to the one in the United States -- the Center for Disease Control (CDC) -- stressing significance of the project, as it will serve all GCC countries and limit spread of pandemics.

The Gulf Cooperation Council is an institutional manifestation for a historic, social and cultural reality shared by all GCC peoples, Al-Sayer noted, pointing out that all these factors would contribute in buttressing relations among GCC citizens at all levels, especially in healthcare domain.

Health-related accomplishments in the Gulf include equal treatment for all GCC citizens, facilitating transportation of medical teams among GCC states and the establishment of many GCC medical societies, among others.
