Ministry of Education school inspections aim to ease difficulties - official

KUWAIT, September 07 (KUNA) -- Director of the educational department for the Kuwait City governorate Mona Al-Loghani said that the tour of schools made by officials in the Ministry of Education is aimed at easing difficulties that could face these schools on day one.
Following visits to a number of elementary schools in the governorate, she said that schools in Kuwait have been provided with a services inspector, a maintenance and air-conditioning technician and a citizens` service office to take the comments and complaints of student guardians.
Today 17,500 students in the elementary level began their academic year in some 44 schools in the capital city`s governorate alone.
State provided-books were distributed fairly amongst the students, with no exclusion.
Around 200 students in the country have decided to shift to public schools after a number of private schools recently closed down, she said.
Al-Loghani added that officials in the ministry are to hold a meeting from September 10-11 regarding a new unified system for the high-school curriculum.
