Kuwaiti minister confirms judicial verdict enforcement

KUWAIT, September 07 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Bader Al-Duwaila said here Saturday the ministry immediately enforces all judicial decisions, especially ones bearing on cooperatives, issued in the name of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The minister was speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) in an explanatory response to recent remarks by a member of parliament to a local newspaper, accusing the ministry of impeding a judicial verdict against Al-Ardhiya Cooperative Society.
The minister made it certain that the ministry had implemented the ruling issued on November 26, 2005, annulling the 2005 election of the cooperative board of directors.
Accordingly, the minister said, bye-elections were held on February 20, 2008, and all legal arrangements and procedures were taken in this respect.
The ministry then announced the election results and published the names of winners on local newspapers, he said, noting that his ministry had all relevant documents.
