Kuwait desert campers urged to observe rules

KUWAIT, September 07 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Municipality on Tuesday urged desert campers to observe the five-month spring camping period set by the cabinet.
The camping period begins as of November and comes to a close late March, Mohamed al-Mosoi, chief of public relations at the municipality, said in news remarks.
Desert campers are required not to put sand berms or fences around their camps and to keep away from the frontiers of neighboring countries, coasts and state, military and oil facilities, he requested.
He called on campers not to put up camps at the restricted areas of the ministries of interior and defense.
Al-Mosoi also urged them to remove their camps before the end of March, when the camping season come to an end, and to keep campsites clean in a bid to protect desert environment.
However, he cautioned that anyone who might break camping rules would be brought to book.
