The Late Amir Jaber Al Mubarak Al Sabah
( Jaber The Second )

Sheikh Jaber was a tolerant and lenient man who held grudges. He was loved by his people for his politeness and unfailing good humor. Due to the growth of trade with the Levent. Kuwait enjoyed increased prosperity during his reign.

In 1917, a conference was held in Kuwait, attended by Sir Percy Cox, the British High Commissioner in Iraq, King Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Sheikh Khazal Khan & Sheikh Jaber bin Mubarak. The aim of the conference was to unite the Arabs under a single Arab Leadership against the Ottomans. The importance of this idea was realized by sheikh Mubarak who used the occasion to utter one of his most famous saying “ We are Muslims. If Muslims unanimous agreement regarding someone, we will all obey him”.
